I debated between a 4 and 5 star review for this book but opted for the 5 star because I couldn't put it down. There were a few times I wanted to hit the characters upside their heads but in the end, they came around. Mal was clueless on how to treat a human female and the misunderstandings of the meanings of our language were sometimes funny. Cheryl began the book without much self esteem and wouldn't stand up for herself. I enjoyed the book as she became more confident and assertive. Mal's relationship with his siblings also changed throughout the book and I look forward to reading future stories that feature the siblings. This is a new author for me but I will definitely be reading more of her books.
This is my first book by this author and I am hooked! Her story is well written with great character development. Mal comes from a society where he is considered less than by a hierarchy society. He comes to earth to start a business and brings all of his siblings together to run it. This is all of their first attempts at being a family. Then his dragon mother demands that he marry the empress and come home, but Mal decides to marry a earth woman instead and this is the beginning of their story. Now I am going to read the next one!!!
Great treat. Read it in one sitting. Borrowed it to read through kindle unlimited but after finishing this book, I had to go buy it and the other two out. Can't just read them once and I have to HAVE them! The characters are three dimensional. They feel like friends and family. I am making myself wait till tomorrow to start the book on the baby. Their miscommunication and cultural/species differences caused a lot amusing plot twists. Entertaining and fun read.
This barely-disguised metaphor for the communications problems between the the sexes is demonstrated by the awkward relationship between the billionaire Dragon Malachite and his intern Cheryl. Butting heads with gemstone aliens makes for an entertaining romantic comedy with a satisfying HEA.
This is the first book that I have read by this author. I was not disappointed. She made the characters come alive! I loved it when Cheryl breathed fire. Awesome!
I started reading this book in the middle of the night, wish I hadn't, I couldn't put it down. I have never read this author before, but she is now on my must read list!
Interesting stories of what some will do for position and/or rank, or what they will not do. Fun read and enjoyed each one.
This is one of the best book I have read in a while. I liked everything about it and I recommend it to anyone that love a good book
