Even as a freebie, this book isn't really worth your time. It took me about 10-15 minutes to read, and I learned nothing new, not even reminders of tips that I had forgotten.There aren't even 50 things to know in this book. #1, #2 and #6 are the same tip about clothes that don't fit. #26, #27, #33 and #39 thru #42 are the same tip that tells you that you should figure out a way to organize your clothes, something that most people are hoping this book will tell you!#16 - "Write Everything You Own on Paper" is ridiculous, and the reasoning is the same as #14 and #18#29 is "Divide Things Out First" - so if you're supposed to do it first, why isn't it #1?#47 "Sell Those Unwanted Clothes for New Things" has got to be the most useless tip. Aren't we hoping to de-clutter our closet? I just don't think that buying new stuff is going to help!And, I thought, based on the title, that the book might tell me "What to Sell" and this was it: "Higher end pieces, regardless of how old they are, are generally worth a decent amount of money all of the time." That's it? That's my advice on what to sell?(My advice: Go onto eBay and do a search for some of the designer labels that you own, and see if they are selling and how much they are selling for. I've sold several pieces of new or nearly new Chico's clothing for a decent amount. Other pieces are not worth the work, so I just donate to my local charity.)I flat-out disagree with #43 "Get Rid of All Wire Hangers" because I used plastic-coated wire hangers that take up much less space than wood or plastic tube hangers. Yes, the cheap metal ones will rust and can damage clothing, but I already knew that because I'm not stupid.I've already spent more time writing this review than it took me to read and re-read this magazine article posing as a "book". The only reason it did not rate one-star is because I didn't "hate it" (amazon.com criteria - it was too ridiculous to "hate") and it didn't contain many grammar, spelling, or punctuation errors.
Burn the mom jeans! Burn the shoulder pads! I'm totally down for that. I really like the advice of finding a charity to donate to or perhaps host a clothing exchange. I'd like to donate to a shelter or perhaps the housing authority. Great ideas throughout this short book of tips.
I enjoyed reading through this, it is good encouragement for anyone needing inspiration to clean out their closet. I have seen many of the tips elsewhere before, but I read about organization a lot (sometimes I even actually organize ;)
Many of the ideas in this book are useful: however, the information is so basic, many readers probably already know it. This just organized it, which I guess is helpful.
Nicely done. Though some are basic there are some nice twists in here. Also like that the descriptions are short and to the point rather than dragging out.
There were very few hints here I didn't already know...but the book was a freebie so it's OK. Some info about donating to charity.
Great for small house owners or minimalists.
A high school kid could have written this book. No wonder it was free. There are so many things that could have been added that I think I might be able to write a better book myself.
